Plasmon–Exciton Coupling Effect on Plasmon Damping

چکیده

Plasmon decay via the surface or interface is a critical process for practical energy conversion and plasmonic catalysis. However, relationship between plasmon damping coupling 2D materials still unclear. The spectral splitting due to plasmon–exciton interaction impedes conventional single-particle method evaluate rate by linewidth. single gold nanorod using spectroscopy technique assisted with in situ nanomanipulation investigated. approach allows indisputably identify that would induce GNR–WSe2 hybrid. It confirmed resonant transfer channel dominates rather than charge GNR–graphene hybrid first. contribution of thin hBN layers as an intermediate medium block excluded. also found contact layer GNR contributes most interfacial damping. These findings contribute deep understanding excitonic effects on

Semiclassical approach to plasmon-electron coupling and Landau damping of surface plasmons.

A semiclassical model is developed to describe plasmon-electron coupling and electronic damping of surface plasmons. It is compared with the ab initio linear response calculations for metallic thin films in the jellium approximation and for a realistic crystalline Mg(0001) surface. The semiclassical model is able to reproduce the quantum oscillations of plasmon linewidth, which was obtained in ...

Molecular Plasmon-Phonon Coupling.

Charged polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), ultrasmall analogs of hydrogen-terminated graphene consisting of only a few fused aromatic carbon rings, have been shown to possess molecular plasmon resonances in the visible region of the spectrum. Unlike larger nanostructures, the PAH absorption spectra reveal rich, highly structured spectral features due to the coupling of the molecular plasm...

Plasmon-Polaron Coupling in Conjugated Polymer on Infrared Nanoantennas.

We propose and demonstrate a novel type of coupling between polarons in a conjugated polymer and localized surface plasmons in infrared (IR) nanoantennas. The near-field interaction between plasmons and polarons is revealed by polarized photoinduced absorption measurements, probing mid-IR polaron transitions, and infrared-active vibrational modes of the polymer, which directly gauge the density...

Interparticle Coupling Effects on Plasmon Resonances of Nanogold Particles

The collaborative oscillation of conductive electrons in metal nanoparticles results in a surface plasmon resonance that makes them useful for various applications including biolabeling. We investigate the coupling between pairs of elliptical metal particles by simulations and experiments. The results demonstrate that the resonant wavelength peak of two interacting particles is red-shifted from...
